For the structure shown calculate the loading and stress for two different exercises. The dimensions for the two exercises are found in Figure 6.1 and Table 6.1. All dimension are in mm:

The dead load for the following structural members must be calculated:

a) reinforced concrete slab Live load
b) reinforced concrete beam Exercise 1) 3 kPa
c) reinforced concrete column Exercise 2) 5 kPa
d) reinforced concrete pad footing Use the total load (dead + live load) for stress
calulation
e) concrete strip footing

Determine the stress that the load (dead & live load) of the following structural members imposes onto:

a) top of the footings b) the foundation (below footing)
    1. strip footing (MPa)     3. strip footing (kPa)
    2. pad footing (MPa)     4. pad footing (kPa)

All load figures in kN and stresses on top of footings in MPa and in kPa on foundation
(face between footing and soil)
