This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work as a builder and manager of a small-medium building business dealing with low rise construction projects. You will practice a diverse range of skills that will enable you to plan and supervise construction work and prepare, cost and schedule for a contract. You will learn about building codes and standards, legal requirements and structural principles. You will apply these skills to low rise residential and commercial constructions.
A critical component of this qualification is a three week per year work placement in the building industry. Please note that it is a student's responsibility to organise this placement.

You will practice a diverse range of skills that will enable you to supervise the planning of construction work, ensure the quality of the work and manage the risks associated with projects. You will learn about building codes and standards and structural principles related to medium rise buildings.
The Diploma of Building is an advanced course that trains you in Building Codes, Standards and Principles, tendering, planning, estimating, costing and scheduling of residential, industrial and commercial buildings.
